A Step Into the Past...

The other night, a very important person in my life took me out to see a movie at a Drive In Movie Theatre. It was something that I had never done before, and it turned out to be an experience that I will not soon forget.

It was a memorable experience because it was such a different way to see a movie! It was like we took a step back in time. We drove up to a little window that was like a fast food drive thru window, purchased the tickets, and then followed a narrow, dark path that wound through the unknown (there were no lights as there were a sea of gigantic theatre screens to our left) and stumbled upon a small concessions shop that looked like a convenience store.

Looking out into the darkness, one could see giant screens in the distance, each lit up, in action, playing a different film. People would come and go from the concessions shop, with armloads of popcorn, sodas and candy, and walk back to their cars to enjoy the movie...And so the movie started...we tuned in our radio, reclined our seats, and took in the flick, all while the moon stared down at us from above.

It was like taking a step into the past:
